Sweet Briar Tin

You know that summer has arrived when the sweet briar starts to bloom.

I adore the old fashioned name for the wild roses that grace the hedgerows through the summer months.

This decorative piece has been made by my self to my own design in my home studio. There are pieces of new and not so textiles, threads, a piece of old quilt,  roses and leaves made from muslin and a chubby rose hip made from clay.

The tin has a touch of rust and signs of wear but that I think just adds to the charm of this item.

Measuring roughly 10cms across 5.5cms high 2cms deep
